Injury Report: Quinten Post, Gary Payton II questionable for Friday vs. Trail Blazers

Over their last two games, the Golden State Warriors have been without a pair of key pieces in the rotation due to injuries. Both Quinten Post and Gary Payton II have been sidelined for Golden State’s games against the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs.

After missing two straight games, both Post and Payton II’s status are in question for Friday’s contest in Portland. Post (illness) and Payton II (right knee inflammation) are listed as questionable against the Trail Blazers on Friday.

While the Warriors are dealing with a pair of injuries, the Trail Blazers have a lengthy injury report with multiple key players sidelined. Shaedon Sharpe (right knee soreness) is listed as questionable and Deni Avdija (right thumb sprain) is listed as doubtful with Deandre Ayton (calf), Jerami Grant (knee), Scoot Henderson (concussion protocol) and Anfernee Simons (forearm) all being ruled out.

If Post can’t go, the Warriors will continue to lean on a frontcourt that features Kevon Looney and Trayce Jackson-Davis alongside Draymond Green. If Payton II remains sidelined, Steve Kerr could continue to lean on Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield off the bench.

The Warriors will meet the Trail Blazers on Friday night at 7 p.m. PT at Portland’s Moda Center.
