Tyreek Hill leaves Tua Tagovailoa off his list of top 5 NFL quarterbacks
Tyreek Hill has been one of Tua Tagovailoa’s biggest defenders since he was acquired by the Miami Dolphins in a 2022 trade, but the eight-time Pro Bowl receiver may be changing his tune.
In a video posted on Snapchat on Monday, Hill was asked to name the top five quarterbacks in the NFL. While Tagovailoa was on that list when he was asked the same question last summer, this time Hill left him off.
“Lamar [Jackson], Josh [Allen], Pat [Mahomes], obviously — this is in no order, by the way — Baker Mayfield, and Joe [Burrow],” Hill said.
In July 2024, Hill’s list included Mahomes, Tagovailoa, Jackson, Mayfield, and Dak Prescott.
In 2022, Hill called Tagovailoa the most accurate quarterback in the NFL and said “everything is spot on, everything is pinpoint, ball is on time.”
Earlier this year, tensions between Hill and the Dolphins nearly boiled over after the receiver issued a pseudo trade request following the team’s Week 18 loss. A month later, he issued a public apology to Tagovailoa.
“Tua, he’s my guy, always will be my guy, no matter what,” Hill told FanDuel’s Kay Adams in February. “He understands my frustration. We all want to win. Tua, he’s another competitor. He’s a hell of a competitor, a lot of people don’t know that. I’m looking forward to just us continuing to build our relationship and even more. This is my public apology to you, Tua. I love you, bro.”
